About Primary Pathways Tutoring

A passionate and dedicated teacher, with 8 years of experience as a Primary School classroom teacher.

Primary Pathways Tutoring is a place where students thrive. It is my goal to work with students, meet them where they are and help them to feel confident, calm and capable.

Through my unique approach, your child will feel seen, heard and understood, allowing them to excel in whatever they put their mind to.

I work one on one with Primary aged students from Kindergarten to Year 6.

  • Throughout my career so far, I've sought after opportunities to work in both single-sex and coeducational schools, public and private, in both Sydney and London.

My diverse teaching background has equipped me with the skills to engage and inspire students of all ages and abilities.

In addition to my general teaching experience, I specialise in NAPLAN preparation and have a particular passion for Maths.

I also love reading and take immense joy in witnessing students achieve milestones, especially when they conquer challenges they once found difficult.

I hold a Bachelor of Primary Education from The University of Sydney and completed a Honour Dissertation in Early Literacy Acquisition, finishing with First Class results.

Over the years, I have worked with students in a variety of settings and with a variety of developmental and intellectual diagnoses including ASD, ADHD, Dyslexia. Dysgraphia and Dyscalculia.

  • As a teacher, I believe in creating engaging, meaningful learning experience that excite students. I take pride in building strong rapport with my students, getting to know them, and making them feel valued. My goal is to help build their confidence, navigate challenging situations and foster a love of learning.

I believe in fostering resilience and a growth mindset, encouraging persistence and the importance of not giving up. I am friendly, consistent, and firm but fair in my expectations. I am committed to helping each student reach their full potential.

I would love to start working with your child and assist them in reaching their goals, whatever they may be! (academic and/or social/emotional)

  • My tutoring sessions are tailored to each individual student, so they will all look slightly different. However, there is a general structure I follow:

Initial Stages: In consultation with both parents and the student, we create relevant learning goals. We check in on these each week to monitor progress. My sessions are collaborative and student-focused.

    General Overview (50 minutes):

    1. Warm-Up and Review (5 minutes):

    • Greet the student, build rapport, and review previous material.

    2. Introduction to New Topic/Further Review/Homework (10 minutes):

    • Clearly state the session's goal and what we aim to achieve.

    3. Guided Practice (20 minutes):

    • Interactive learning with examples and exercises, using hands-on activities to enhance understanding.

    4. Independent Practice (10 minutes):

    • Give the student time to work independently, with clarification as needed.

    5. Review, Reinforce, and Wrap-Up (5 minutes):

    • Summarise key points, set goals for the next session, and end on a positive note with encouragement.
